New Camcorder

Panasonic HX-WA10
Hey guys, I'm back at Uni now & I can tell it's going to be a hectic few months!  I'm very excited though because we start on our fashion communication module this month, & our assignment for the next 6 weeks (besides our other module coursework)  is to make a new, cutting-edge fashion magazine.  Our group has to create a magazine in the style of Dazed & Confused, & I'm so excited to get started!
This is my new camcorder which I got as my Christmas present from my parents.  I love it! I haven't tried it out fully yet but I've taken a few videos with it just to experiment with the functions & familiarise myself with the camcorder.  Just in case you're interested in its main features, the camcorder records in HD (1920x1080), is waterproof up to 3m, has built-in flash, 16 mp, 12x zoom & has loads of other things I haven't had the chance to discover yet!  I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this, as not only will I need it for my course but I think it would be interesting to start making amateur videos in my spare time - whether it be fashion promotion videos or videos of my recent travels.  Depending on how good they are I might post them on here, unless they're terrible or irrelivant.  I will try and keep you guys posted but it looks like I'm going to be very busy this week.  In fact, I should really be doing research right now.... Hope you all have as good week ahead of you!

Colour.

Table For Six
Hey guys!  Just thought I'd leave you with an OOTD from a couple of nights ago.  I wore this out to dinner as I was meeting up with some friends for the last time before I went back to Galashiels (I go back tomorrow)!  I'm in the middle of packing at the moment actually, and shouldn't really be blogging right now, but I really wanted to share this with you all as I don't think I'll have time to blog in the next couple of days.  My jacket/long blazer is a bargain I snapped up in the Topshop sale (£10!), and so is the jumper (£25), which I'm in love with.  Maybe next time I wear it I can show you it properly because it really deserves the attention - I particularly love the cut, the colour (tangerine-y) & the material (so fluffy, thanks to the angora rabbit hair)!  Anyway, hope you all have a good week, speak to you soon!

Marry The Night

Procrastinating
I leave for Uni again on Monday.  That's 3 sleeps away!  I can't believe how quickly the holidays have gone, despite having almost 4 weeks off.  Today I've been doing research for our Menswear brief, mainly just collecting pictures and stuff.  It's a task that in reality shouldn't take that long, but somehow takes me hours to do.  I also need to start packing... not fun.
This outfit is something I put together a while back.  I don't think I would actually go out in that mesh top with just my bra...  I'd probably wear something on top and have the mesh sleeves showing.  I really like it, but it's one of those things that's just hard to get away with.  Oh, and I don't know what you call the thing I'm wearing on top of it... It's almost like a cashmere shawl... but it's not.  It has 2 holes for you to put your arms through, but it just dangles.  Now that I think about it, the garment has no real purpose, because it will never keep me warm.  It's just there to look nice I suppose.  Money well spent, haha.

New Year, New Shoes...

Boots: Dune (sale)

New Booties
I'd like to introduce you to the latest additions to my wardrobe: my chunky-heeled boots, and studded flat pumps! So happy with my latest footwear purchases!  I had been looking for a pair of black leather, ankle-length, 3"ish, thick-heeled, slightly-platformed boots for quite a while (no suprises there) before I came across the perfect pair in Dune.  It's not often you'll see me wonder into Dune (I'm usually found in Kurt Geiger) but fortunately for me, Dune had a massive sale on before Christmas, and these boots were pretty much staring at me from the shop's shelf, so I couldn't not go in.  After having studied them for 5 minutes, and having tried them on for further 10 minutes, I walked out of the shop.  Why I did that I'll never know.  They ticked all the boxes.  They were perfect.  But I was trying to be nice to my bank I guess, and left them... for two days.  I don't know about you guys, but I know I have to buy something when I can't get it off my mind, and these boots were all I could think about during that 48 hour gap!  I'm pathetic, I know.
The next pair of shoes don't quite have such a dramatic story behind them.  I simply picked them up, liked LOVED them, tried them on, and bought them.  The rest is history.  I bought them full price though, and I don't do that often withs shoes unless I really like them or sense they won't be in a sale anytime soon.  They were £28 (less actually, because I got Student Discount on them) from Topshop.  They're still there, so if you like them, you can buy them too :)
I'm still on the hunt for some Kurt Geiger flat boots for the Winter... I know we're half way through it, but I have a voucher... and I need them anyway, because my other pair are slowly wearing away...  Maybe next month, when I won't feel so guilty.

Black & White

 Cosy in Cashmere
You know when you have something in your hand one minute, and the next you can't find it anywhere?!  I've been searching for my usb stick all over the place today!  I had it on me yesterday night and I clearly remember it being in my room, and now I can't remember whereabouts in my room I put it.  I'm quite annoyed actually because my new CV is in there and I was going to continue updating it... and now I can't....
Anyway, I've left you with an OOTD. I'm wearing an off-white cashmere jumper, which used to be my mum's once upon a time, with a silk-like skirt I got in the Topshop Sale last summer.  I think I got it for about £5...  I've also got the same ASOS  heels on, and a necklace from Topshop, bought over a year ago I think.
A week today I will be back at Uni, starting on the projects set out for semester 2.  Our timetable this semester consists of Materials & Medium (theory), CCS, Menswear, & Fashion Communication (yayyyy!!!). We get to make a magazine over the next couple of months so I'm very excited to get started with that!  I'm sure I will update you again before I go back;  I really want to show you my new gadgets!

 Update
Hello! Yes, I'm still here! Sorry I haven't done much blogging these past couple of weeks but I honestly haven't stopped since I came back home.  Since I've been back, I've either been meeting up with friends, shopping, spending time with my family, or working!  I was actually going to do this blog post a couple of days ago, as I had some free time, but as luck would have it, my internet decided to fail on me. And now it's a whole new year... how time has flown!
To start off 2012, I'd like to say hello to all my lovely new followers, and of course, to my previous followers also ;) I hope you all had a great Christmas & a fantastic New Year!  I have a few posts planned for the coming weeks so stay tuned.  The pictures in this post are from an OOTD I posted on LookBook a week or so back, but never got the chance to post it on this blog.  This dress was an amazing find from H&M.  I think I bought it about a year ago now and I still love it.  There is a faux leather panel at the top of the dress, and the rest is thick, black fabric.  It's one of those garments that looks expensive but really cost me under £20!
